B.J. Thomas dies at 78

May 29, 2021 will be remembered with sadness as legendary singer B.J. Thomas passed away at the age of 78. 

On March 23, 2021, Thomas announced that he was suffering from stage IV lung cancer. 

We remember him for classics such as Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head and also for his records as a Christian after giving his life to God in 1976, the year he released the album Home Where I Belong, the first Christian record to go platinum.

Thomas won 5 Grammys, 2 Dove Awards, 1 Country Music Association nomination, and 15 gold and platinum certified albums. In March 1982, Thomas was featured on the cover of CCM magazine.
