Louie Weaver, former Petra drummer, was rushed to the emergency hospital, he is fine now.

    Louie Weaver, Petra's drummer for over a decade and part of the band's most emblematic albums, recently had a delicate health problem that led him to hospital.

    According to his wife Penny, Louie was rushed to the hospital with a racing heart, luckily Louie was treated in time and his heart is stable.

    In Penny's words, it is a miracle that Louie survived this based on his family history.

    Penny's message on her facebook profile was:

    HE IS OK. AS FAR AS I CAN TELL. IT’S A MIRACLE HE SURVIVED THIS. HIS FAMILY HAS A HISTORY OF JUST DROPPING DEAD. WITH NO SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS. HE JUST GOT BACK FROM HIS HEART MRI. HE GOT A LITTLE PANICKED IN THAT. HE IS SOMETIMES CLAUSTROPHOBIC.

WE HAVE STARTED SOME MEDICINE SOTOLOL TODAY. HE WILL TAKE 2 TIMES A DAY THAT WILL HELP DO SOMETHING WITH HIS HEART THEN ON MONDAY I BELIEVE WE’LL HAVE THE DEFIBRILLATOR PUT IN. WE HAVE ANOTHER DAY OR TWO AT THE HOSPITAL AFTER THAT FOR OBSERVATION.
