Lead singer of the legendary band Stryper, Michael Sweet, has said through his Facebook account that Stryper's upcoming album will be released early next year.
<< Word on the street is that Stryper will be recording a brand new, all original album in January/February of 2017.
We've been going down a "heavy" path for the past few albums/years and fans worldwide seem to love the direction. As we perform classics like "Calling On You", "Free" & "Always There For You" live, I'm always reminded of the power of merging melody with edge to make for a great pop metal song.
Do you miss that sound (pop metal anthems) or do you prefer our newer sound (straight forward hard rock/metal)? I'm always curious to know your thoughts and when I start writing for the new album, I will take it to heart >> Michael Sweet
The truth is that the last two albums of Stryper are fantastic, that's Metal of high standards, I think they should stick with what they are doing, and for the more oxidized fans, it would be nice to include one or two songs "Pop Metal" just as they did in Fallen with the song "All Over Again".

After the great success they have had with their last two albums, it is expected that the next will be a great album. The most recent albums "No more hell to pay" and "Fallen" have a much heavier sound than any other album they have done before, but some prefer the old sound "Pop Metal" of the band. Because of this, Michael Sweet he asked his fans if they prefer the old or the new sound of the band.
